SATA, SAS, and SSD Expansion for H-class Systems
The SM120 provides reliable and versatile storage expansion for Nimbus H-class storage systems. Engineered for high-availability, the SM120 offers end-to-end redundancy, including hot-swap power supplies, IO modules, and fans. With 80% fewer components and 70% lower power consumption than clustered storage systems, the SM120 reduces datacenter operating costs and maximizes drive life by substantially reducing heat and vibration within the enclosure. With FlexScale technology, each drive bay supports SATA, SAS, or SSD drives, enabling organizations to mix storage tiers even within the same enclosure. Unlike clustered arrays, the SM120 uses SAS, a low-latency high-bandwidth interface, to connect to H-class systems. This approach provides 4x greater performance and 85% lower latency than clustered arrays while reducing cooling needs, cabling requirements, and cost per TB as capacity is added.

Reduce energy costs by 80% and increase reliability
By not duplicating all the unnecessary components inside clustered iSCSI servers, the SM120 consumes 80% less power (just 85 W unpopulated) while generating less heat and offering better reliability through simple design and fewer components.
Reduce expansion costs by 40%
With clustered iSCSI arrays, there are no cost per TB savings as the storage is expanded, leading to excessive capacity costs over time. With SM120 expansion modules, cost per TB decreases as the system is expanded since only additional capacity is required.
Increase efficiency by scaling storage on your terms
The SM120 supports any blend of SATA, SAS, and SSD drives in the same enclosure. Users can add more storage at their own pace depending on what tier of additional capacity is needed. This pay-as-you-grow approach helps keep initial costs down and ensures optimal storage utilization.
